Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 19, 2026
This policy explains what data the Nextis Calendar Chrome extension (listed in the Chrome Web Store as “Nextis”, “the extension”) accesses, how it is used, and how you can delete it.
Summary: The extension reads your calendar events only to show your next event on your new tab and the Google homepage. Everything is stored in your own browser. The developer does not run a server and never receives your data.
1. Data the extension accesses
Google Calendar (only if you connect it)
- Permission requested:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly(read-only). - Data read: your calendar list (calendar ID and color) and, for the next 14 days, each event's title, start and end time, location, Google Meet link, event link, status, and your own response status (to skip declined events).
- An access token is managed by Chrome's built-in identity system (
chrome.identity).
Apple iCloud Calendar (only if you connect it)
- Your Apple ID email and an app-specific password that you create and enter yourself.
- Data read: your iCloud calendars and, for the next 14 days, each event's title, time, location, URL/description (only to find a meeting link), and calendar color.
New tab shortcuts
- Your most visited sites (
topSites) and their icons, used as default shortcuts, and any shortcuts you add or edit.
2. How the data is used
The data is used only to show your next calendar event and your shortcuts on the new tab page and the Google homepage. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any other purpose. The extension never creates, edits, or deletes calendar events.
3. Where the data is stored
- All data is stored locally in your browser's extension storage (
chrome.storage) on your device. - The Apple app-specific password is stored in that local extension storage so the extension can keep checking iCloud. It is protected by your device and browser profile, not by additional encryption.
- The developer has no server. Calendar requests go directly from your browser to Google (
googleapis.com) and Apple (icloud.com) over HTTPS.
4. Sharing
The extension does not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. No data is sent to the developer or any third party other than the Google and Apple services you choose to connect.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
Nextis Calendar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Retention and deletion
- Disconnect Google or Apple in the extension popup to delete that service's cached events and, for Apple, the stored password. Disconnecting Google also revokes the access token.
- Uninstall the extension to delete all of its data from your browser.
- You can also revoke Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions and delete the Apple app-specific password at account.apple.com.
- Cached events are refreshed regularly and only cover the next 14 days.
7. Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
